Lost access no more! The Power Menu in Windows 11 is one element that has thankfully not changed a radical amount in the upcoming operating system. There are improvements, but not wholesale changes.

And that’s good because, as the name suggests, this is for power users.

Some even call it the Power User Menu.

No matter what you label it, this is a very handy little menu in the Windows operating platform that provides quick links to many of the most used applets and advanced features — Settings, Task Manager, Network Connections, Disk Management, you say the word.

Windows 11 Power Menu

You invoke this menu by pressing Winkey + X pretty much anytime you want, anywhere you want.

However, on Windows 11, the Power Menu had been missing support for access keys that let you press letters to quickly select entries in the men. For example, pressing the V key opened Event Viewer, so on and so forth.

That was then, and this is now.

Because Microsoft has taken feedback into account and restored access to these access keys in the Power Menu. This Redmond confirmed in a post on the Feedback Hub.

With Windows 11 build 22000.100, the Power Menu is now not only faster, but should more reliably display the access keys so that you can quickly jump to whatever it is that you want to open with the press of a button.

Don’t you just love happy endings?
