  • Cool. From the screenshots, it looks like the IE9 RC will let you have tabs on a new line. That’s a commonly requested feature.

    • None of the leaked screenshots of IE9 RC from more reputable sources show this functionality, either, which would presumably be pretty big news – another reason I’m leaning cautiously towards this image being a mockup or a plain fake.

For what it’s worth, the “real” rc seems to have changed the tab style to be less round, instead opting for a sharper, square look. Seems odd that they would double back on a minor ui change like that, whilst adding a fairly major feature like this.

Additionally, though it’s not necessarily verifiable, I believe that Microsoft has not yet ever had an OS pre release version with this kind of watermark, though I would be willing to overlook that if there weren’t so many other discrepancies.

  • I’m going to call fake on this one, provisionally. The only way that we can get proof of a valid leak would be if they released the setup.exe from the install disk, so that we can verify that it has a valid digital signature.

Screenshots don’t cut it, and if they refuse to leak the actual bits, this,d be the only other way.
