Bill Gates Is Overseeing Office 16 Development

development of the next version of Microsoft’s productivity suite, Office 16. In a recent interview with Bloomberg TV, Gates said that Office 16 is one the projects that he is working on right now, and he wants the productivity suite to be dramatically better than the current version:

“Of all the things Microsoft needs to do in terms of making people more productive in their work, helping them communicate in new ways, it’s a long list of opportunities Microsoft has to innovate. And taking Office and making it dramatically better would be really high on the list there. That’s the kind of thing I’m trying to help make sure they move fast on.”
Few surprises here, really. The traditional Office suite, along with the cloud powered variant, Office 365 continue to bring the most revenue for Microsoft, even more than the Windows division these days. Gates, who is currently the technical advisor to the CEO, also expressed his pleasure at how Microsoft is doing with Satya at the helm, saying that he sees a new sense of energy, and a lot of opportunity in areas where the technology titan is not leading the market. Good going, Mr. Gates!]]>
