Brutal! – A Windows 8 animated evaluation

What a BRUTAL time for Microsoft and Windows 8.

My cousin sent me this video and it’s made by a guy called Brian Boyko.

He says:

When I had some free time to take a look at Windows 8, I realized that I couldn’t be impartial. The thing blows, and in this cartoon illustration, I show exactly why. – Contains naughty words, and graphic employee ID card violence.

It does have some foul language but it has some very valid points.

Let me know what you think about this video in your comments below…

Enjoy…

  • He is right that it’s not impartial. However, it’s also not objective, and it’s totally clueless.

I have been using Windows 8 on multiple systems since the original Beta, and I use Windows 8 Pro every day. It’s certainly not perfect, but the experience is nothing like it’s described in this video, and I can only chalk this up to “willful ignorance”. You have to really try to make Windows 8 as bad as he suggests.

    • Yeah it was a little excessive. It was well made though.

I have to give him that…

  • I’ve been using Windows 8 since RC and have not experienced any of the problems you’re talking about.

  • I think this video was made for humor rather than substance.. everything he stated is either exaggerated or inaccurate. His examples revolve around him applying his experience from Windows 7/XP/98 rather then the new system.

  • I
SERIOUSLY HATE WINDOWS 8!! It is by far the WORST OS EVER CREATED! I could not
agree more with this summation. BY the way, Not sure why, but one of my systems has suffered terribly from the install and now is 80% slower than before. Good on you for putting this out.

  • Relearning how to use my PC isn’t on my list of things that I want to do. I did try out all of the BETAs and I became proficient using Win-8 too. But I don’t like it. Especially considering that I have to buy it for six computers in my home. I was (and am) completely happy with Win-7 (I already own eight copies of Win-7) and I just cannot bring myself to ~spend money~ on upgrading to an OS that’s trying to change the way I interact with my PCs. This is a huge blunder on Microsoft’s part, even when you consider all of the people that are willing to change everything about how they use a PC. This may be a little easier to take on a tablet, but Android OS already trumps it handily in that segment. Microsoft DOES have a history of trying to control us in the past, and it has never worked yet. Microsoft may be trumpeting about rapid adaptation of Win-8, but they wouldn’t have the numbers that they do without their existing contracts with PC makers.

  • The video is well made and kind of funny at times. The content though is quite inaccurate and proves that he is good doing videos and bad using an OS. I am NOT a “techie” and I was able to figure the OS in half a day when the CP version was issued (and I am exaggerating) and the fimal version is way more polished and fun to use. Even my 3 years old gets the OS to do what he wants (even if it is pretty basic, being 3 yrs. Old). Tge guy is a moron trying to get some fame by harshly criticizing the OS. Shame on him…

  • This
guy makes no sense. I have been using Windows 8 since the very first preview
release and merrily use it as my main OS and have never looked back. Sure,
Metro needs some better integration, but does anyone stop to think that instead
of hammering MS on details such as this maybe they should actually applaud MS
for taking such a leap outside of their norm to bring a revolutionary new
system into the forefront?!? His first example made me laugh when he said that
the weather app just “popped up”. Sorry man, but that seems like you
fat fingered a keyboard command to me. That’s the beauty of all PC’s, they do
what you tell them!!! Which completely disproves his other convoluted point. If
you don’t like Windows 8 then just stay with Windows 7 till you are ready to
take on something new, the choice was never taken away from you! I watch my 3
year old daughter use tech and her first instinct is to TOUCH, her innocence
points to towards the future. His ignorance points to the past (apparently
can’t teach an old dog new tricks). As I said I have been using Windows 8 since
way before it was officially released. I can confirm – it is FASTER – overall
and boot up. It is FUN – alot of the Metro apps are actually really fun and
look great on a big screen. I am more PRODUCTIVE – search is awesome and
partnered with Office 2013 it shines for business. I am HAPPY – that MS is
sticking to their guns and making this leap. I am DONE. Thank you for your
    time.
