You Can Now Buy Official Scroogled Mugs, Hats And T-Shirts

It has been a solid year or so since Microsoft kicked off its marketing efforts against Google. The Scroogled campaign launched with the intention of showing the world how the search engine company deals with the privacy of user data.

And now Redmond has shifted a gear, this time allowing users in the United States a chance to purchase official Scroogled products like mugs, hats and t-shirts.

These items are available on the Microsoft Store with prices ranging from $7.99 to $25.99.

Microsoft has also used the product descriptions to deliver punch lines and reveal the purpose of each item, trying to demonstrate that Google violates the privacy of its users by tracking their searches and looking at inboxes to deliver ads.

As the company said in one of its recent campaigns:

“Google goes through every Gmail that’s sent or received, looking for keywords so they can target Gmail users with paid ads. And there’s no way to opt out of this invasion of your privacy.

Your email provider should protect you from spam, but Google is doing just the opposite; they’re reading your private email conversations and using what they find to push junk mail directly to your Gmail inbox.”

Ultimately, the purpose of this campaign is to actually promote Microsoft’s own services, and the company lets no opportunity pass to highlights its Bing search engine or email platform in pretty much all Scroogled campaigns.

Google has so far refused to comment on this, but you can be sure almost everyone at the search engine giant will be taking a look at these new products.
