Could The Start Menu Be Back With Windows 8.1 Update 3?

rumors that popped up yesterday hinted at this. But while the company is yet to talk about these upcoming releases in detail, there is a possibility that one important (and much requested) feature might be part of Windows 8.1 Update 3. Yes, the highly anticipated Start Menu. Most people expected to see the Start Menu returning in Update 2, which is on track for an August or September launch. Then came the talk that this feature is being reserved for Windows 9 proper. However, Microsoft made it clear at the BUILD 2014 developer conference in April that the Start Menu would debut in a future Windows 8.1 Update — without ever mentioning the release date of the said update, or what it would be called. It turns out that the company might be thinking about Update 3 all along. The third refresh of Windows 8.1 is estimated to go live just months before Windows 9. And this would be perfect timing to not only win some users over, but also giving everyone a chance to try out the modern platform, thereby paving the road for the new operating system. Speculation for now, but Windows 8.1 Update 3 has all the potential to be something really special. Your thoughts on this, ladies and gentlemen?]]>
