Wondering where you can download a Windows 11 ISO image to take the new OS for a test drive? Well, you’ve come to the right place!
Earlier today, a couple of screenshots of Microsoft’s upcoming new operating system leaked online, showing off this new variant. These were followed up by an ISO leak that allowed users to install Windows 11 ahead of the official announcement.
The leaked build is 21996.1, and it is floating around the eerie corners of the web.
Mind you, this is the very first build of the upcoming OS that has made its way out. And apparently, it was compiled a whole two weeks back, on May 30. For this reason, the bits that make up this build are sure to be old, and Microsoft has likely zoomed ahead in terms of features and additions.
But if you are looking to get your hands on the ISO image — unofficially that is — then below is the string you are looking for.
21996.1.210529-1541.co_release_CLIENT_CONSUMER_x64FRE_en-us.iso
It is a 4.53 GB file that should take you a little while to download.
If you are wary of searching it online, then fret not. For the community has shared this ISO file in the usual places. The file is available as a direct download on Mega below, or as a magnet link for a torrent that you can add to your favorite client and start downloading.
The build that leaked today may be from an early version of the OS, but it does provide us with a closer look at how Microsoft wants to revamp Windows.
For this reason, it is worth deploying on a test computer or a virtual machine, and exploring.
