Enable God Mode In Windows 8.1 Preview With This Little Trick

The God Mode is one of my most favorite hidden features in Windows. This little hack of sorts brings up a shortcut to the Windows Master Control Panel, also known as All Tasks, and allows easy access to various control settings.

First unearthed in Windows Vista, this functionality has since carried onwards to later Windows operating systems, including the recently released Windows 8.1 Preview.

And just like previous iterations of the operating system, the hidden God Mode is pretty easy to invoke in Windows 8.1 Preview allowing users to access all settings from a single place.

It is not turned on by default, as this mode provides access to critical settings that can affect the performance and overall stability of the operating system by a novice user. But intermediate and advanced users can enable it easily with these few simple steps.

Create a new folder on your desktop and name it “God Mode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}”, without the quotes, obviously.

As soon as you hit the enter key on your keyboard, the default icon of the folder will change and resemble the one that is used by the familiar Control Panel. Just double click the folder to get access to all the available options like disk management tools, VPN options, display settings and user tools.
