Fitbit For Windows Phone 8.1 Confirmed For Arrival

responded to these requests now on its community forums, saying that it is working on this app:

“Fitbit is developing an application for Windows Phone 8.1. Thank you for all your feedback and support.”
No other specifics have been provided, including expected features and an estimated release date. The company actually made public plans to develop such an application for Windows Phone 8 back in February 2013, but limitations in that version of the mobile OS meant that a release was impractical until Microsoft enhanced support for the Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Low Energy) technology. This arrived with the GDR3 update for Windows Phone 8, although it was still limited and relied on OEM firmware to function. Windows Phone 8.1, however, bakes support for this technology deeper into the operating system. Fitbit is one of the more popular wearable devices around, and currently offers apps for iOS and Android that have the ability to share data straight between the band and smartphones. It is reasonable to expect similar functionality on the Windows Phone 8.1 app once it launches.]]>
