I continue to post his quotes just to be able to repost this picture. Anyway, Gabe Newell, the co-founder of Valve software has more to say about Windows 8.
GTTV host Geoff Keighley got right to the point and asked Newell what he thinks new Windows 8 users will think when they first try out the new Microsoft operating system. “I think that they’re going to find that they hate it,” Newell bluntly said. “I think they’re going to basically rage quit computing after they use it.” When Keighley asked what is so bad about Windows 8, Newell said, “Things that used to be incredibly simple are very complicated and hard.” Newell then went on to say, “I hope I’m wrong. I mean, if I’m wrong we’ll actually end up making more money in the twelve months that follow Windows 8 shipping then if I’m right. I’m just worried that I’m right.”He’s a drama queen. Rage quit computing? Really. *sigh* Source]]>
WHO THE FUCK HE IS TO COMMENT ON WINDOWS 8???? HEY BUDDY IF WINDOWS 8 IS WORSE THAN A SHIT!! THEN WHY DON’T YOU COMMENTING PEOPLE PRODUCE AN OPERATING SYSTEM (BETTER THAN WINDOWS) & GIVE US THE TRY!!!!
you obviously don’t realise that the same people criticising Windows 8 where praising Windows 7 when it was released, and you don’t seem to have a concept of the complexities involved in creating an operating system and the cost associated.
not impressed…
“WHO THE FUCK HE IS TO COMMENT ON WINDOWS 8????” More like im not impressed by his ignorance. Everyone has the right to an opinion, and he probably has more of an authority than Computer8user. Whenever you comment you should always try to remain impartial which he obviously is not doing.
That’s the matter of LIKING & DISLIKING, every person MUST COMMENT ON CERTAIN THINGS CONCERNING HIS OR HER PERSONAL VIEWS!! NOT THE THOUGHTS OF OTHERS…OR TO DISTRACT USER!!!
Please stop using caps lock, it does not help get your point across. Yes, people have different opinions about OS’s, so everyones experience is relative. However, many industry experts, as well as former Microsoft employees are criticising Windows 8, and for good reason. Microsoft is betting a lot on this release. There are many things that could go wrong for Microsoft. We will have to wait and see how the average user reacts to Windows 8. We will only really be able to comment on whether Windows 8 was a success or not about 1 year after its release once we have some reliable data.
mr whoever you are, a Microsoft developer or mr. steve ballmer , this is an general discussion about windows 8 & its not owned by you or the computer8user or even by me.plz maintain respect for each other Â
Hey ziusi,
Calm down a little with the caps. You can make your point without being antagonistic.
Onuor
of course im mr. amobi he is taking everything personally..
for your kind information XINU, this guy name NEWELL or something to the effect spent thirteen years working for Microsoft Corporation. Windows 8 is Far AWAY FROM HIS UNDERSTANDING & BRO FROM YOU TOO…NO PERSON HAS RIGHT TO SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE THINGS WHICH IS NOT CAPABLE ON HIS POCKET!!!
why do you reply using caps lock? Does that give your reply more authority or credibility? How can you comment on my authority or credibility if you don’t even know who I am? I could be a Microsoft Developer working on Windows 8, or I could even be Steve Ballmer using an online username. You don’t know anything about me and you have no idea about my level of expertise. So please be respectful.
MD OR SB WOOO WOO….I GOT TERRIFIED!!!! Â
you are not being very respectful to members of this community. Is it because I have an Apple logo as my avatar?
no man don’t take anything personally…
Mr. Gabe Newell SHAME ON YOU!!!! criticising windows 8…just search you roots, where do they originates on…BUT WINDOWS 8 is way better then it stated by you..
I have been using windows 8 from past one year when it first release as developer preview & find it more useful than any other version of windows (far better than windows 7 & XP). not really care about what others say about it, im gonna purchase it on its general availability.windows 8 rocks!!Â
I have tried every version of Win 8. I just installed the 90 day version. The only thing it did for me was let me use a printer that the first two versions didn’t recognize.
I have been using Microsoft since DOS 2.11. I loved the switch to Win 3.11, to Win 98, to XP, and even to Vista. Win 7 is a marvelous OS. I love my Windows Phone 7.
But Win 8 SUX and I’ll have to hope that MS comes to its senses in Win 9, like Coke did when they brought back Coca Cola Classic.
Haha, he looks like Mrs Doubtfire.
