Of the four or five big PC makers around, HP has a handy knack of announcing new PCs all year around. Sure, the company does bring new models to major events, but round the year unveils are pretty common.
We have had a bunch of them recently.
The company announced two new EliteBook PCs, the 1040 G4 and the x360 1020 G2. Both of these are aimed at the business market, and power a lot of power and performance in a slim and stylish package, perfect for carrying around.
Interestingly, both are pretty capable at gaming, too, strengthening the notion that employees these days need PCs that are fit for both work and play.
A basic rundown of what you are getting, then.
The 1040 G4, expectedly, is the more powerful of the two. It can be availed in both the dual core Intel U series chips, or a much more capable H series processor, the Core i7 7820HQ. HP claims that this makes for the thinnest and lightest quad-core business notebook around.
Coming in at 15.95 mm of thinness, and 2.99 pounds of heft.
You get a 14-inch screen that rocks at 120Hz, and it is offered in either Full HD or Ultra HD configuration, powered by the integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 or 630 graphics processing units, the latter of which is exclusive to the quad-core chip.
The company claims up to 18 hours of battery life for the dual-core models, and 15 hours for quad-core.
Which brings us to the EliteBook x360 1020 G2, which comes with a 12.5-inch display that is also offered in either 1080p or 4K resolutions. It houses processors for the Intel U series line, and makes use of the Intel HD Graphics 620.
At 13.9 mm and 2.48 pounds, this one is another thin and light option for people on the move.
Both the EliteBook 1040 G4 and the x360 1020 G2 are set to become available later this month, with prices of these laptops starting at the $1,379 mark.
