talking to the Wall Street Journal, Richard Yu, the company’s head of consumer business group has said that this will not happen. The company tried to sell Windows Phone devices, but things just did not align. In fact, Huawei says that they have been losing money on their Windows Phone smartphones for two years now, as they have been unable to put up a fight against the Nokia Lumia devices. With not a solution in sight (really?) the company has decided to put any releases of new Windows Phone on hold — at least until the market dynamics change, the app situation improves, and the platform matures. Easy way out, but what can one say. Android it is, for Huawei, as this is the only platform that they make a profit on. This may seem like a betrayal for Microsoft, but at the end of the day it is only business. What do you folks think?]]>
wp dominated by Nokia. android dominated by Samsung. what else can they use in the end?
I’m with you. I’ve never been a huge fan of Huawei anyway, so I don’t really think this is a huge deal. At least from my perspective.
When have they ever advertised the Windows Phones they sell? How hard have they been pushing their phone and Windows Phone in general. Of course they’re not standing up against Nokia because they didn’t put in the work Nokia did
I agree here. Their logic is flawed. However, this is sad news because I do really like Huawei. Oh well.
