Hulu Plus App Now Available For Windows Phone 8 Devices

The Hulu Plus app has been available for a while on the Windows 8 platform, but its appearance for Windows Phone has long been anticipated ever since word first got out a month or so back.

Good news for Windows Phone 8 devices owners, then that the movie and TV show streaming service is now available in the Windows Phone store. Not so good news for Windows Phone 7 owners, though, the app is exclusive for the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile platform.

Just as the case for Hulu Plus on other mobile platforms (iOS, Android and Windows 8), the app allows users who have subscribed to the service at $7.99 a month to stream the latest episodes of TV series from ABC, NBC, Fox and the CW onto their smartphone, tablets and other mobile devices.

Hulu Plus also offers a selection of older TV shows, a small range of movies, plus growing number of original and exclusive series. The Windows Phone 8 version also offers support for Live Tiles allowing users to see when their favorite shows get updated.

And as is the case with most quality applications, Hulu Plus subscribers can stop watching a video on their smartphone and then resume from the same location on another device such as a tablet.

Hulu announced last week that its premium service Hulu Plus now has more than four million paid subscribers, and according to a statement on Reddit from the company employee, the company has received a lot of requests for the Windows Phone platform.
