Microsoft is soon set to unleash Internet Explorer 11 as part of Windows 8.1 in just a few months, but in the meanwhile Internet Explorer 10 continues its impressive growth.

The current version of the company’s popular web browser has now become the number one choice of Windows users the world over. The latest statistics provided by StatCounter for the first 21 days of July, 2013 reveal that IE 10 is now the most popular version of Internet Explorer.

This, quite obviously, shows two things — one, that users are slowly (yet steadily) making the move to Windows 8, and second, more and more Windows 7 users are now installing the latest version of Microsoft’s web browsing application.

Speaking of competitors, Chrome 27 is still on the first place in this list, with a 19.54 percent share of the market. IE 10 actually comes fourth, with 10.83 percent, but this still puts it ahead of both IE8 and IE9. The older versions of Internet Explorer are installed on 7.59 and 5.38 percent of PCs worldwide.

This list is due for a bit of a shuffle very soon.

Redmond has already released a test version of Internet Explorer 11 with Windows 8.1 Preview, and the final build of the new browser is on track to go live with the RTM version of the operating system.
