Internet Explorer 11 Virtual Machines Available For Download Now

The upcoming version of the company’s flagship web browser, Internet Explorer 11, holds special significance for Microsoft. Not only does the software titan claims IE 11 to be the most advanced version of Internet Explorer yet, it also boasts support for several modern web technologies.

And the company wants to make sure that both users and businesses take this version of the browser for a test drive, ahead of its official release.

Microsoft launched a developer preview version of Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 yesterday, and the company has now released new virtual machines to help users test out the browser.

The technology giant said in post:

“Virtual machines have proven to be a great way for developers to test in their preferred environment. We’ve made these available across various versions – from IE6 on Windows XP to IE10 on Windows 8 and in-between.”

Windows 8.1 Preview with Internet Explorer 11 and Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 11 Developer Preview are now available for download in various common virtualization platforms.

Hyper-V on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Virtual PC for Windows 7 along with VirtualBox on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux are all in, ensuring users and businesses can test out the web browser in their virtualization platform of choice.

Internet Explorer 11 will be released as part of Windows 8.1, while Windows 7 users will the web browser will also be offered to Windows 7 users as an optional download.
