As the Cloud Data Architect/ Data Integration Lead, you will be responsible for managing and implementing the data architecture platform the organization uses to obtain, store, analyze and deliver clinical data and insights to our internal and external clients. You are primarily responsible for the design, implementation, and security of the infrastructure necessary to accomplish the mission, the architect will also participate cross-functionally in other larger enterprise projects as the SME to support the data domain needs. You will be leading a team of developers, analysts and vendors to accomplish our project goals.
Initiate, plan, direct and implement complex cloud infrastructure solutions to support multi-client engagements involving sensitive data transfer, cleansing, analysis, and storage in an Amazon Web Services environment.
Design engineer solutions involving virtual private clouds (VPC), compute instances, storage, load balancers and security within AWS.
Perform research and provide technical guidance and recommendations regarding performance enhancements and new technologies to Client management. Maintains expert technical skills and knowledge of current industry standards and procedures regarding cloud computing, cloud infrastructure architectures and troubleshooting procedures.
Develop high-level designs, specifications and documentation to implement complex solutions such as system performance monitoring and logging. Conduct meetings regarding system design and implementation for technical staff to provide an understanding of how the infrastructure is designed.
Collaborate with developers and database administration to design and validate conceptual and logical data models to support workflows, determine structural data requirements, and technical documentation of systems and processes.
Develop and standardize procedures and methods to improve and continuously monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of assigned programs, service delivery methods, and procedures; assesses and monitors workload, administrative, and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement.
Participate in negotiations and administer contracts with private vendors to provide services.
Participate in the professional group meetings; using current knowledge of new trends and innovations in health care information technology; research emerging products and enhancements and their applicability to the organization.
Monitor changes in regulations and technology that may affect operations; implements policy and procedural changes after approval.
Skills and Expertise:
5+ years of experience in cloud services administration including provisioning and configuring resources in cloud-based environments.
Certification in Amazon Web Services is a plus.
Experience with database management and operations, including ETL tools for data mapping, data warehousing, and data pipelining.
Mastery of high availability and disaster recovery approaches such as active/passive clustering, active/active load balancing, cold/warm/hot standbys, data replication (asynchronous and synchronous) and other approaches.
Familiarity with big data tools and programming frameworks for parallel and distributed computing, such as Hadoop and Spark.
Experience with supporting Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning workflows at production-level scale is a plus.
Experience with data storage and transport of protected health information and/or knowledge of GxP compliance best practices and tools applicable to both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
Understanding of current and emerging cloud security trends.
Experience with supporting software development lifecycles, including virtualization technologies, automated deployment processes (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment), and DevOps cloud deployment is a plus.
Strong architectural knowledge of key enterprise technologies: Amazon Web Services, Infrastructure Security, Networking, Unix & Wintel Servers and Storage with awareness of (Security Best Practices, Cisco Solutions, Veritas, VMware, EMC, Microsoft SQL Server database, Oracle database, SUN hardware/Solaris, Windows Server 2003, global networking, .NET framework, J2EE framework, Citrix, Active Directory/LDAP, Exchange, SFTP).Effectively communicates orally and in writing at all levels of the Client including stakeholders, customers, managers, staff, and the public
The ideal candidate is an experienced API engineer with experience in Healthcare standard formats namely DICOM, HL7, CDA, X12
Experience with TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Automated Testing.
Experience developing APIs, RPCs and clinical application code.
Proficient with API, serverless technologies on AWS.
