No ThinkPad this time around? Looks like Lenovo is preparing a new kind of a laptop, one that does not fall under the company’s Think brand. The V730 is the name of this new creation that has just leaked.

As the image below shows, this new range of laptops aimed at businesses does not come with a carbon fiber body, which has been a trademark for the ThinkPad line of hardware. It is also missing the red TrackPoint in the middle of the keyboard.

But the rounded keys, and physical buttons above the trackpad have made the cut, though.

Lenovo V730 Leak

According to the information provided, this device comes with a 180° hinge. No surprises here, as this is what Lenovo has been doing with its laptops for years now, having popularized its Yoga line of devices that feature this mechanism.

Onto the internals, then.

There is talk that the V730 will make use of the latest Intel eighth generation Kaby Lake R chips, which is to say that the laptop will be quad-core. The Core i7-8550U is expected to be paired with 16GB RAM, and a 512GB SSD.

Connectivity options include two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a USB 3.0 Type-C, and wired Ethernet.

The above report claims that the device will weigh in at 1.2 kg, and comes with a 15.9mm thickness. Goes without saying that it will come with Windows 10 Pro as the operating system.

CES 2018 is next month, and chances are that we will hear more about the Lenovo V730 at the event.
