There’s something special about smartphones with price tags in double digits. Inherently special. The Lumia 435 is now official, and is Microsoft’s bid to target this low end segment of the market.
And it arrives, launching a completely new series portfolio for Redmond.
Was this trip really necessary? More so when there already area several other Windows Phone partners that launched their affordable solutions across the globe this past year. I guess we shall find out in the months to come, how this expansion pans out for Microsoft.
For now we do know that the company introduced the Lumia 435 in two versions, one with single SIM capabilities, and another dual SIM version — both of these hit the market in February.
Here’s an overview of the basic specifications:
- 2GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor
- 1GB of RAM
- 8GB of internal storage
- microSD card support of up to 128GB
- 2 megapixel back camera
- VGA front camera
- 4-inch display, with a 800 x 480 pixels resolution
- 1560 mAh battery
The company also released a short video to showcase this affordable new handset:

While the technical specifications of the Lumia 435 are not overly impressive, they do still make for a very capable device that can handle almost all basic mobile tasks. Buyers across Europe, APAC and IMEA regions will be able to purchase the Lumia 435 next month
Price? Around $75.
