word is that it could start shipping on some devices in just a couple of weeks. Previous reports on the matter hinted that most users would be getting this important new refreshed firmware in late December, depending on their location and smartphone models. At least, that was the release schedule Microsoft had planned. Now, however, the timeframe is set as late October. Or early November. The Lumia Denim update is an anticipated release, as it brings a few notable improvements, particularly to the Cortana service. Thanks to the SensorCore technology on Lumia smartphones, users will be able to activate the digital voice assistant hands free, simply by saying “Hey Cortana”. Speed and stability improvements are also expected. At the same time, a few camera enhancements are also in tow, including the ability to take shots faster and with a revamped UI. Microsoft will also make it possible for Lumia owners to record 4K video at a serviceable 24 fps by pressing the camera button longer. Lumia Denim is already available on the Lumia 730 and 830, two recently launched smartphones, and although we don’t have official confirmation, it seems others will be able to enjoy it soon.]]>
Awesome. The only problem is I have the Lumia Icon. Which is on Verizon. Verizon doesn’t like to update phones. Verizon has also places the Icon on the end of life status. That’s crazy.
Looking forward to it
