Lumia Smartphones From Microsoft To Lose The Nokia Branding Soon

evleaks sheds some light on the matter. It seems that Redmond is keen on terminating the Nokia branding from future smartphones in the Lumia lineup, quite a bit sooner than the 18 months period that was announced a while back. As the document states:

“Microsoft brand will only replace the Nokia brand in product, applications and experiences when Microsoft has launched a new product into the market.”
Having said that, it merits a mention that the document was compiled in January this year, and a lot could have changed since then. The document further reveals that Microsoft will provide full support for all Lumia and Asha products, in fact, the entire Nokia portfolio which was transferred as part of the transaction. Details about the usage of the Nokia Pure font are also in, which is to be replaced in future marketing materials with Microsoft’s very own Segoe typeface. Interestingly, a number of classic elements will remain with Nokia, including the Nokia Tune ringtone, the Connecting People tagline and the hands animation. The reason for this is that Microsoft did not buy the rights for them. You can take a look at the full document at the link above.]]>
