Microsoft Buys Analytics Vendor Netbreeze

Part of its increased focus on the CRM business, Microsoft just announced that it has taken over an analytics company by the name of Netbreeze. Terms of the deal were, however, not disclosed.

The software giant believes that Netbreeze will play a vital role for the development of social media analytics technologies, as it could potentially offer the necessary solutions for multi-lingual access and analysis of Twitter, Facebook and YouTube streams.

The company made the announcement on its Dynamics community blog. Microsoft’s corporate VP, Bob Stutz said in a statement:

“This is a huge benefit over competing solutions that translate to a common language then analyze sentiment from there. Additionally, they offer their customers the ability to monitor a wide array of social channels including Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, as well as 6,000 online news websites, 18 million blogs and 500,000 message boards”.

Netbreeze is set to be integrated into Microsoft’s Dynamics CRM software and will provide customers with much improved and enhanced social capabilities.

Microsoft has also outlined two major updates to its Dynamics CRM offering in the near future. The first is codenamed ‘Gemini’ and is set to be available to US customers by the end of the month, and international customers by the end of the year.

Another update that comes with a codename ‘Orion’ is set to be available late 2013.
