Microsoft Puts Up A Comparison Chart For Various Editions Of Windows 8.1

The board is set, the pieces are moving. Redmond is now very close to unleashing Windows 8.1, with a mere month remaining between now and the official launch date of October 18.

And the company is trying to make sure that its highly diversified user base picks the right version based on their needs. To ensure this, Microsoft has just put up a handy little comparison chart that lists all the features and options available in various versions of Windows 8.1.

The table has been released earlier today, after the announcement of the availability of RTM version of Windows 8.1 Enterprise on MSDN and TechNet.

And it shows all the available features on Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1 Edition, Windows 8.1 Pro Edition and Windows 8.1 Enterprise Edition — along with new tools that are available in Microsoft’s first ever refresh of Windows 8.

You can take a look at the highly detailed comparison chart here.

All the basic and advanced features that you could ever wish for are on it. For example, the Start button and Internet Explorer 11 are included in every single version of the upcoming Windows 8.1. However, the powerful Start screen control tool is only offered to Enterprise users.

But when it comes to feature like 3D printing support, biometric enrollment, WiFi tethering, improvements for multiple monitor and options to set the desktop wallpaper as Start background, these options are available in all versions of the operating system.
