If there is one thing Microsoft has really nailed with Windows 8.1, it is the area of help and support. And no surprises here, when you consider that this is one part of the core Windows 8 that was criticized by users and reviewers alike.
Then again, for an operating system that departs so heavily from previous versions, the comparatively higher learning curve was to be expected.
Redmond has tried to change this with Windows 8.1, with some good results. Not only are tips and tutorials built into the new operating system, the company has also released guides with the Preview and final retail flavors of Windows 8.1.
And now the company is back with another helpful and handy official guide — this time for businesses that make the switch to new platform. The description reads:
“Whether you’re collaborating on a large project, preparing for an upcoming conference, or traveling for work, you can use touch, mouse, and keyboard together–seamlessly–to do what you want, the way you want. This quick guide will show you how to get around, navigate, manage apps, work on desktop, and personalize your Windows 8.1.”
Just like the previous guides on the subject, this one is available as a neatly designed PDF file, and the document can be easily opened with the default viewer that is built into Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.
The guide is offered free of charge to all users, introduces the key features of the new OS, and tries to make it easier for people to come to grips with the changes it brings. All said and done, this is a helpful resource for businesses that have just made the move to Windows 8.1, or are thinking about it.
