Microsoft Said To Be Planning To Release Windows 8.1 ISOs This Month

When it comes to sticking by its decisions, Microsoft has two gears. The first one has it cruising along in the fifth gear and staying put on like turning on the Do Not Track option in Internet Explorer by default.

And the other one has the company putting things in back gear and reversing some of its decisions, either due to public demand, or someone in the upper management having a change of heart. Either way, end consumers will not say to a turnaround if it benefits them.

But when it comes to the former point, it seems that the company is now considering releasing official Windows 8.1 ISOs in the next few weeks.

When the new operating system launched, Microsoft made it clear that it will only be available exclusively via the windows Store. Some company officials also candidly explained that no standalone ISOs would be released.

What good is a download store, if it does not house the latest bits, eh?

Anyway, the latest on the grapevine is that the software titan is ready to provide users with a second option of upgrading their computers — those looking for an easy way to perform a clean install can now look forward to downloading the ISO files soon.

As of right now Windows 8.1 ISOs are available for MSDN and TechNet subscribers, though end users can also get them via a simple trick. Absolute beginners, however, would welcome a much more direct way of downloading.

Stay tuned for more on this as we move forward.
