Microsoft Says Surface Enthusiasm Has Been Fantastic

Redmond has recently announced that it is ready and raring to bring Surface tablets to a number of new markets in the coming months. But one thing it has not yet provided any details on is the sales figures of its shiny new tablet.

Sure, analysts and market watchers have stepped in with their estimates — but they are just that, estimates. Only Microsoft knows the real deal, and there is a fair chance that it will only reveal the statistics later this year when it launches a next-generation Surface tablet. If, at all, that is.

The reason for this is that Microsoft is still in the process of debuting both the Surface RT and Surface Pro in a bunch of new (and important) markets around the globe.

Of course, nothing is set in stone, and the technology titan may have a change of heart in the near future, with the BUILD developer conference or the launch of Surface Mini the likely candidates.

For now though, the company is mum when it comes to updated sales figures. It has however said that the enthusiasm for the Surface tablet has been fantastic.

Brian Hall, the general manager of the Surface project said in a blog post:

“We love hearing the stories of people who are making it the one device they use to work and play. This is what Surface was designed to do – simplify your life while letting you do more! In fact, one of our biggest challenges has been keeping our 128GB Surface Pro in stock.”

That’ll do for now, that’ll do. Microsoft’s immediate focus is increasing the retail availability of its device in as many markets as it possibly can. These retail channels will serve the company well not just for its two premier Surface slates, but other hardware devices as well it brings out in the future.
