The biggest product launch this month, without any question, is Surface with Windows 8 Pro. The tablet is set to go on sale on February 9, but it seems that Microsoft is ready to showcase it early.
The company has started sending out invites to people to take the Surface Pro for a spin by visiting their nearest Microsoft Store. Paul Thurrott received one such email from Redmond that reads:
“You’ll love the new Surface Pro. Come in-store to preview the new Surface before its release on 2.09.13 and experience the productivity of a laptop with the portability of a tablet.”
The tablets are not yet available for sale though, and the company has not even announced a preorder program before launch as it did for Surface RT.
According to latest reports, the Surface Pro is not only available for test drive not just at Microsoft Stores, but also at Best Buy and Staples. Redmond wants to play its cards correctly this time around, and increased availability of this tablet is downright crucial.
Microsoft is very obviously focusing on capturing the North American market for now, as the tablet will only be available in United States and Canada for the time being.
Two different flavors of the tablet are on offer — the 64GB model that starts at $899, and a top of the range model with 128GB storage capacity with a price tag of $999.
