The name rings a bell! A couple of months back a leaked slide hinted at a new SKU of the operating system, and now Windows 10 Pro for Workstations is as official as official gets.
Microsoft just announced this new version of the OS, positioned as a high-end edition of Windows 10.
Apparently, the software titan has been developing this variant with what it calls valuable feedback from those on the Windows Insider Program. But basically, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations offers support for server grade PC hardware.
Furthermore, it has been designed to meet the demanding needs of mission critical and compute intensive workloads.

So basically, the four main feature highlights Microsoft has listed are all centered on the architectural changes that the software titan made in the Windows kernel.
These have resulted in significant optimizations for workstation class processors, like the Intel Xeon and AMD Opteron. Additionally, the company notes that Windows 10 Pro for Workstations has been designed to maximize every aspect of the high-performance devices that power users possess.
For starters, it brings support for ReFS, also known as Resilient File System that is designed to be resilient to data corruption, can autocorrect, and is optimized for handling large data volumes, including mirrored storage spaces.
Then you have features like persistent memory and faster file sharing, as well as expanded hardware support for up to 4 CPUs (up from 2), and massive memory configurations up to 6TB, up from the current limit of 2TB.
