Minecraft: Pocket Edition Launches On Windows Phone

purchase in September for $2.5 billion, and the very next month a Windows Phone port appeared in a leaked photo. And the game is now available, right before the year is out. It is available on the Phone Store for $6.99. But this marks the first time the popular game is available on Microsoft’s mobile platform — the original title, of course, launched on the PC, and soon afterwards arrived on consoles, including the Xbox 360. The pocket edition of Minecraft is the same version that can be downloaded on iOS and Android, and features a lot of the content that is available on desktops and video game consoles. This version also includes the survival and creative modes, as well as WiFi multiplayer. What’s notably missing, though, is Xbox Live support. Surprising, really. Considering this is a Microsoft platform, and Xbox Live is usually added to all Windows and Windows Phone games that are developed by the company, large and small. Maybe in a future update. Maybe not. In the meantime, you can grab Minecraft: Pocket Edition from the Windows Phone Store here.]]>
