In what is perhaps the oddest time for a show stopping bug to surface, one just has, with Microsoft confirming that there will be no new Windows 10 Insider Preview builds for quite some time.
As in, until Tuesday, at the very least.
There was talk that we may get a new version of the preview this week, what with this new version of the operating system itself slated for arrival on October 18. Windows Insiders were keen to test, and help the company refine the Fall Creators Update before its rollout next month.
But while they were patiently waiting, Dona Sarkar confirmed the bad news today that there will be no new builds this week, or even on Monday.
#WindowsInsiders: there is no build today, Fri or Mon. We have a fix for our blocking issue, need to test, then deploy to Canary/Selfhost.

This not only includes releases in the Fast ring, but also for those that chose to Skip Ahead in the program to get early access to Redstone 4 builds. And since Microsoft has a habit these days of Windows 10 Mobile builds alongside the PC ones, no phone versions either.
The software titan is now hard at work on fixes and stability improvements for the operating system before it reaches the RTM state. And while this is usually the time we get builds left and right, things have been slowed down by these late bug discoveries.
Fingers crossed, Microsoft gets a hang on things as soon as possible.
