Out of these 600 were sold in the United States, though oddly enough, Nokia has not stopped sales in the US. Problem lies in the fact that the plastic cover of the exchangeable plug on the charger, in certain conditions, comes loose and separates. What these certain conditions are, is not exactly clarified. This exposes certain components that may cause — you guessed it — electric shock. Anyway, this particular charger has been designed by a third-party manufacturer to be used exclusively with the Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet. Call me dumb, but how in the world does Nokia/Microsoft not test this out first??? Did no one even test the chargers! Bad, bad news. 🙁
It’s not just Nokia. No one makes quality chargers anymore. I don’t know anyone with a laptop or tablet who hasn’t had to buy a new charger after only a couple years with the device, and don’t get me started on how low-quality phone chargers are now
I agree with this, however, most chargers don’t shock you. How the heck do they let this happen.
Can you say, lawsuit? I’d have to imagine someone is getting sued from this. Tough situation, but inexcusable nonetheless.
