Mobile World Congress is just around the corner, a time that is ripe for revealing new flagship devices and more. With that in mind, you have to wonder what Microsoft’s biggest smartphone partner has planned. Apparently Nokia has quite a bit up its sleeve, actually.

Although CES saw a muted presence from Nokia, it looks like things are going to be quite different this time around at MWC, at least if you believe the latest rumors. It seems like the newest handsets from Nokia are all starting to pop up in Asia.

Two new devices have been spotted in Indonesia, and a new listing for China Mobile indicates yet another new phone.

Let’s start with the Indonesian sightings. Apparently the Nokia 720 and Nokia Lumia 520 have been spotted in name only via the list in the picture directly above. So what do we know about these two handsets? Absolutely nothing, to be totally frank. For now all we can do is speculate about what the 720 and 520 might look like or feature as far as specs are concerned.

So what about the Chinese sighting? A listing for the Nokia Lumia 1000 has been seen at China Mobile, though again we know little about what this phone might be. The wording “Lumia 1000” suggest something new, and something that will best the extremely popular and high-quality Nokia Lumia 920.

Nokia’s new handset rumors don’t end there, though. There are supposedly several version of the Nokia Lumia 920 being prepped for a release to Verizon – and perhaps other carriers in the US and elsewhere – and some of these devices could make a guest appearance at MWC as well.

For now, take everything with a grain of salt. MWC could be a noshow and Nokia could throw us for a loop and then unveil their only special launch event. You never know for sure until it actually happens.

The bottom-line is that Nokia has made great strides with its latest Lumia lines and things are far from over in the innovation department. I expect exciting things from Nokia in 2013. What about you, excited about Nokia’s future smartphone (and maybe tablet) plans or not?
