Nokia Lumia 620 Gets New Firmware Update

The Nokia Lumia 620 hit store shelves exactly one month after it was unveiled back in December 2012. It obviously was one of the most affordable Windows Phone 8 handset from the Finnish giant.

Until the recent release of the Lumia 520, that is.

But the thing with Nokia is that it aggressively and hastily serves up new software updates for its devices, not just for the software apps, but the underlying firmware as well.

The latest to get such a treatment is the Lumia 620 — one that brings several improvements and enhancements to the popular handset. Improvements like increased stability, better camera picture quality and more responsive touch behavior.

Folks over at EsPhoneBlog, were quick to get wind of the news, and they are reporting that the new firmware version is all set to be pushed OTA (over the air) globally sometimes during the next couple of weeks.

By the way, the firmware carries the version number 1030.6407.1308.0002.

More promised improvements include fixes for the “Other” storage issue affecting the budget smartphone. The new update introduces a Settings app module to address this very issue.

The Lumia 620 has expanding its international availability in the last month or so. It even made its debut in Finland (the home country) in late March.
