Nokia McLaren Flagship Smartphone Reportedly Cancelled

reportedly featured the innovative 3D Touch user interface on top, and was rumored for arrival towards the end of the year. But the company seems to have changed its mind on launch, and the device is now said to be cancelled. Although the report does not provide additional details on the matter, it seems that this decision was taken over a few weeks back — meaning it has got nothing to do with the reorganization currently ongoing at Redmond. The 3D Touch interface is actually mentioned in the Windows Phone 8.1 SDK, and is properly documented, suggesting that the software titan is actively working on this feature. But chances are that these touch less gesture capabilities are not yet ready for deployment, hence the decision to cancel Nokia McLaren. Luckily, the Windows Phone 8.1 GDR2 release, the second major refresh of the mobile operating system, still includes this new technology in its roadmap. So not everything is gloomy. Worse comes to worst, we may see technology in a new flagship in the coming months.]]>
