Windows on ARM just got its golden ticket! In a major step up for app compatibility for the mobile focused platform, Qualcomm and Microsoft have made it official that App Assure is a done deal.

Meaning, if your business is buying the ARM variant of Windows, you can do so confidently.

Qualcomm actually promised this when it unveiled its Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 at IFA this year, with the Chief Product Officer at Microsoft Panos Panay teasing that App Assure is coming to Windows on ARM devices.

It took a while, but both companies have gotten it done.

As Brad Anderson, CVP, Commercial Management Experiences, Microsoft puts it:

“The consistent application compatibility of Windows 10 has been the reason for its worldwide adoption, and we’re proud to extend this compatibility promise to Windows 10 on ARM. Now our customers can have confidence that their business-critical applications will work on Snapdragon-powered Windows devices.”

The long and short of App Assure is that it is a certification that businesses will not have app compatibility issues if they transition to the Windows on ARM platform. And if they do, Microsoft will work with these organizations to fix these problems.

It is part of the company’s FastTrack program, meaning Microsoft 365 customers get it at no extra cost.
