Recent Activity Feed Said To Come To SkyDrive.com, Windows Client Updated

Even though it may recently be embroiled in a trademark dispute in Europe, SkyDrive remains a key Microsoft service, and arguably its most popular one this side of Skype.

Redmond has done a splendid job integrating the cloud storage solution into all its latest platforms, from Windows 8 to Windows Phone 8 and everything in between. And more importantly, the software titan keeps on updating and adding new features and enhancements to old ones to SkyDrive.

The company has just rolled out a brand new version of the SkyDrive client for Windows, even though official release notes are yet to be provided.

Microsoft SkyDrive 2013 is now updated to build number 17.0.2011.0627, and regular users of the service are recommended to download this new version that is said to pack stability and performance improvements.

Additionally, the company is working on a desirable new feature for its SkyDrive.com service that allows users the ability to better keep track of files that they have recently uploaded.

As LiveSide.net reports, SkyDrive.com will get a recent activity feed that will be readily and easily accessible as the “Recent” item in the left side menu of the web service.

Users can quickly check out their newly uploaded and files and photos that they have added to their SkyDrive account, even files and pictures shared by other users. Users will also get the ability to edit files in their account and documents that were recently opened.

Microsoft is yet to officially confirm or publicly comment on this new feature, so take this particular feature with a grain of salt — while you download the latest version of the SkyDrive Windows client.
