UK technology enthusiasts have a bittersweet life. While they get most device and services at extra padded prices, they at least get them in earlier than most other parts of the globe.
Case in point is the slate known as the Surface Pro — which is reportedly set to make its debut in United Kingdom in mere weeks now, rather than months as most were probably dreading.
Redmond had already confirmed rollouts in several other markets a little while back, and said that it was gearing up to launch its flagship tablet there in the “coming months”. But as far the UK is concerned buyers there could get their hands on it in just a few weeks.
Ben Reed, the senior manager for Surface at Microsoft confirmed to Pocket-lint that the tablet could hit store shelves before the end of March.
This makes perfect sense, as the United Kingdom is perhaps the most important market outside of North America as far as Redmond is concerned. Now, it remains to be seen how many units are shipped there, and whether we see lines form outside of stores with buyers looking to grab the tablet.
In addition to the United Kingdom, Microsoft is also getting ready to launch the Surface Pro in Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong and New Zealand — but of course, no word yet on release date.
