Another balmy week, another clement Windows 11 build. This time, we have the third update to the Insider preview in Windows 11 build 22000.71, and this one brings along a bunch of new features to go with refinements to existing ones.
Microsoft announced the landing of this version in the Dev channel as another cumulative update.
This is because the company has decoupled the underlying bits of the operating system from the UI stack. As far as the under-the-hood code is concerned, the operating system itself is almost done, and only the apps and UI elements need to be refreshed.
Speaking of refreshed, we have a new right-click context menu ready to go in this build that adheres to the Windows 11 design with the acrylic blur effect.
In addition, the Taskbar previews that you see when you hover open apps on the Taskbar have also been updated to reflect the new visual design of the operating system.
Also new in this build is the introduction of the new Entertainment widgets, which allow you to see new and featured movie titles available in the Microsoft Store. These can be added from the widgets pane in the OS.
As mentioned, there are a bunch of fixes made in this build. These include fixes to the Taskbar behavior across multiple monitors, fixes for the Settings app, and other improvements to enhance the reliability of the operating system.

As usual, these builds are served to users enrolled in the Dev channel of the Windows Insider Program. Those of you in the Beta channel will have to wait a bit longer in order to get in on the action, hopefully not too long.
