Uninstall Multiple Metro Apps With This Small Tool From Microsoft

Removing Windows Store apps on Windows 8 (or Windows 8.1, for that matter) is hardly a difficult task. In fact, it is as easy as installing an app, and can be easily accomplished from the Start Screen.

But the process could take a fair bit of time if you want to uninstall and remove multiple apps at once.

Microsoft has released this tiny script for Windows 8 — which obviously also works on Windows 8.1 — and comes in real handy when uninstalling a number of Metro apps at once. As the company explained:

“This script can be used to remove multiple Windows Store apps from a user account in Windows 8. It provides a list of installed Windows Store apps. You can specify the application IDs, and remove them all at once.”

Usage instructions are as simple as they usually are for a small utility tool like this.

Just download the ZIP archive and then run the script after extracting all the files. Then simply choose the apps that you want to uninstall when you are ready, and away you go. The software titan has also included a detailed little manual in case you need some more help.

Which makes me wonder, whether Microsoft would (or should) have such a utility built into the final version of Windows 8.1 once it released later this year.

A script is nice and handy, but a simple dedicated tool would be even more powerful and user-friendly. What do you guys think? Sound off in comments section below.
