And by this I mean, the ad itself is quite thin and light on details. It has been a few days when Microsoft made its second generation Surface lineup official, and now the company seems to have begun its marketing campaign.
The company has rolled out a new ad that shows the actual tablet.
But while the ad that kicked off the elaborate marketing campaign for the original Surface back in October 2012 was somewhat awkward (though creative and well put together), this one actually highlights some of the key features of the refreshed device including.
Not much is on display in this simple ad, but you can give it a watch below:
The clip is available on the company’s official YouTube channel, but keeping in mind the length of the video, it may well be destined for airtime on television screens around the world. Here is a look at the description of the video:
“The new Surface is thinner, lighter and much more than a tablet. With an available click-in keyboard and Microsoft Office, you can multi-task like a pro.”
Along with showing just how thinner, lighter and faster the tablet is, the ad also points to the fact that Office is natively available on the platform, and an expanded list of accessories is also on offer. All in all, for a generic ad, this is pretty decent. Expect the marketing to pick up with new Surface ads soon.

Nice video!
I thought so too.
I think they’ll be headed in the right direction once the new ads begin focusing on why you’d want these devices instead of going head-to-head against the iPad. It’s not like they’re selling Fords. Focus, people!
I like the back-lit keyboard, the new screen, the new OS and 200GB of SkyDrive free for 2 years.
