We are getting nearer and nearer. What could be the final RTM build that will be released to public, has arrived in the form of Windows 10 build 19041.264 for Insiders to test.
It’s available in the Slow and Release Preview rings.
Today is a big day for Microsoft, and could have been bigger as May 12 was supposed to be the original launch date of the Windows 10 May 2020 Update.
Nevertheless, the company is coming hot off a rather heavy Patch Tuesday update cycle, which service almost all active versions of Windows, bar version 1511. And it has also made available the final bits of the May 2020 Update to developers that are enrolled in the MSDN.
Word is, that Redmond also handed out Windows 10 version 2004 to OEM partners last week, so that they can deploy this latest release on their newest hardware.
That only leaves Insiders, and mainstream users.
The former got another taste of sweetness, with build 19041.164 that has been made available in these two abovementioned rings of the preview program. Microsoft first released build 19041.208 as the RTM candidate in the Release Preview ring earlier this month, and this follows up on that.
Today’s update contains a bunch of fixes, and no new features, as expected.
This is a minor cumulative update, after all.
There is only one known issue in this build, which has got to do with a third-party accessibility tool. But nothing too serious. That said, the long-standing Windows Mixed Reality issue has finally been fixed in this release, much to the delight of virtual reality gamers everywhere.
You can grab this release from Windows Update. Or if you want to move in with a clean install of the update, then the ISO for build 19041 is also within reach.
