Talk about sucking the joy out of everything! Microsoft may have shown off Windows 11 last week, and just released the first Insider build of the new operating system mere minutes ago.
But one thing the company has been silent on is when they plan to do the public rollout.
There are hints that the release date of Windows 11 has been set for October this year. However, more is at play here. Because a recent tweet from the official Windows account suggests that the rollout will begin in early 2022.

Windows 11 is due out later in 2021 and will be delivered over several months. The rollout of the upgrade to Windows 10 devices already in use today will begin in 2022 through the first half of that year.

As per the tweet, Windows 11 will show up preinstalled on new hardware towards the end of this year. But existing Windows 10 users that qualify for the upgrade will only start getting their hands on the new operating system in the first part of next year.
The good thing is that this will be a free upgrade, as long as your hardware is up to the task.
Of course, we will only know for sure as we get closer to the launch of the new operating system. For now, many a detail regarding it are clouded, including the system requirements and how certain new Windows 11 features actually work.
There is a lot of new stuff in the upcoming OS, after all.
As things stand, the Holiday Season 2021 release promise that Microsoft made just four days back can be filed as a claim for new devices that come with the operating system preinstalled. A concrete announcement regarding the Windows 11 rollout plans is keenly awaited.
