Did anybody call for synergy? That’s exactly what you get in the newly released Windows 11 build 22499, which adds the ability to share open apps directly into Teams calls.

Oh, and there are the usual bug fixes, as well as an ISO download option for those who want it clean.

The official announcement post for build 22499, which is now available in the Dev channel for Insiders, provides a full list of what is worth your consideration.

Getting down to what’s new in this version, the most prominent highlight is the ability to quickly share open app windows on the Taskbar directly with calls in Microsoft Teams.

Build 22499 Teams Share

Hovering over the apps running on your Taskbar displays a new button allowing you to share your window with your meeting attendees. When done sharing, you can hover over that window and either click Stop Sharing or choose another window to share.

As you would have expected, this is a fully baked-feature. Meaning, other communication platforms can also add this capability to their apps.

And as is the norm for new features, not everyone will immediately see this new addition. Microsoft has only made this option available to a subset of Insiders with Microsoft Teams for work or school installed. But this feature will be ramped up over time.

Speaking of work or school, the Clock app now supports signing in with Microsoft work and school accounts. This is perfect for the focus sessions feature in that one.

The build also includes a long list of welcome fixes. These fixes will eventually be released for the publicly available version of Windows 11, but there is no timeline for when that happens.

You can glean the fixes and known issues in this build at the link above.

Oh, and just for the record, Microsoft also took the opportunity to announce that they are beginning to rollout the “Shipped Windows 11” badges to Insiders in the Feedback Hub.
