Windows 8.1 Build 9391 Reportedly Out For Testing

It has been a fair few days since we got our regular dose of Windows Blue builds information, but it appears that some new details are heading our way before the week is out.

Word is that ahead of its public debut next month at the BUILD developer conference, Microsoft has already sent a developer preview of the upcoming Windows 8.1 to some select OEM partners for testing purposes.

The build in question is labeled 9391 — another minor version number upgrade.

It is not yet clear whether this is the same version that will go live next month, but Win8China.com believes that it packs a number of improvements. No screenshots or download links are available at this time, but there is a chance that ISOs will most likely show up in a few days.

Microsoft has already announced that it will roll out a preview version of the upcoming operating system next month. No specifics on the release date of the final product have been provided, but the preview could very well be distributed via the Windows Store when it is released.

Redmond may share details on the release date at the BUILD developer conference.

Nevertheless, insider sources seem pretty confident that the final retail version of Windows Blue will be in our hands by August or September, this year.
