Windows 8.1 Build 9431 Spotted In A Leaked ISO

Another day in the technology world brings another report of a new Windows 8.1 build. We are mere days away from the debut of the preview version of the upcoming OS, yet reports of new builds continue to reach the web.

This time the version in question is Windows 8.1 build 9431 — references for this specific version have been identified in a leaked ISO. As is usually the case, no particular details have been provided, but nevertheless this probably is one of the latest builds of the operating system sent out by Microsoft.

The technology titan regularly sends out new builds to partners for testing purposes before the actual launch of a new operating system.

Then again, no way to gauge the authenticity of the above screenshot, as Microsoft is close to rolling out the Milestone Preview of Windows 8.1 before the June 26 launch date of the public preview version.

Windows 8.1, obviously, packs in a long list of improvements to go with a bunch of new features — the most notable of which is the return of the familiar Start button that is said to get users to the Start screen a bit faster, instead of opening up the Start Menu.

Recent reports have suggested that Redmond may include a bit of a smaller menu that could pop up when the Start button in Windows 8.1 is right clicked. This small menu is said to include quick links to some of the most used functions including system reboot and shutdown.
