Windows 8.1 Pro Build 9403 Said To Be Out For Testing

Microsoft may be preparing the public preview of Windows 8.1 that is set for unveil at the BUILD developer conference, but at the same time the technology titan regularly sends out beta builds of the OS to partners.

The latest according to this forum posting is that build 9403 has been sent to partners for testing purposes. No other details are available, for now.

Additionally, word is strong that Microsoft has completed the development of most of the new Metro apps that are to be bundled with the upcoming operating system. And this impressive list includes the interesting (and highly anticipated) Movie Moments app.

What is not clear is that whether this will be the last version that will be submitted to partners before the launch of the public preview next month.

If so, then Redmond will probably want to accommodate the feedback and fix any bugs internally and work on getting the public preview ready for the BUILD developer conference in June.

Judging by how things have shaped up in the past, there is a fair chance that this build may leak and a downloadable ISO may be available soon — probably before the weekend.

For now however, take this with the customary pinch of salt. There is no telling whether this screenshot is indeed the real deal or just another altered image. But with the public unveil soon approaching we should be in on the details in just a few weeks’ time.
