Now, however, the company seems to have bumped this date a bit, as this FAQ page mentions that the final date of Windows 8 (core) support will now end on January 12, 2016, after having been moved a few more months. But with these updates freely available for download, there really is little reason not to deploy and install them to upgrade Windows 8 PCs to the newest version of the operating system.]]>
I’m sure they’ll make some exception for Enterprise. I had to use 8.1 Enterprise trial twice because my software department was taking forever to setup 8.1 ISOs

I’ll second that! We’ve come a long way in 12 years.
If the update fixes issues, why would anyone not want to update? This should obviously be mandatory in my view.
First with XP and now this! Microsoft is doing things their way, and I respect it! Make people do things the way they were intended.
Is this really going to upset some people? Is the update really going to make things worse? I find that hard to imagine. Get used to change, people!
