I think that until Microsoft kills the Registry, something it should have done years ago, this is never going to equal Time Machine. If you haven’t used Time Machine, you may not realize that you can restore to a different computer, a different sized disk, even a different version of the OS–it doesn’t care. The Registry poses a serious obstacle to all of these. Now that I’ve tried it, it would be a very difficult feature to give up.
