There are a host of new features that will be introduced in Windows 8.
This post will talk about Windows 8 Problem Steps Recorder
Thanks to Problem Steps Recorder in Windows 7 you can take screenshots and comment on your problem; this way tech support will be able to identify your problem and help you solve it.
Here is what you have to do to use Problem Steps Recorder in Windows 7:
- Start (click the Start button on the screen, press the Start key on the keyboard – the one with the Microsoft logo on it) -> in the search box type in psr.exe -> press Enter
- Problem Steps recorder will launch. Press Start Record -> go though the steps and recreate your problem.
- When you are done, press Stop Record -> select the location where you would like to save the output file -> save the output file (it is saved as a zipped HTML web archive)
- Email the output file to tech support or whoever is helping you with your problem. Alternatively you cold just share the file on the network.
It’s a good bet that Windows 8 will have a Problem Steps Recorder.
