You can use this hot-key combination to take screenshots anywhere in Windows 8, whether it is desktop apps or metro apps. The whole process is very fast and does not affect any of your work.
Win+ PrintScreen key- Will Take screenshot and save it to your pictures library. ]]>
It would be better if it also allowed capturing just a part of the screen as I do with WINDOWS+S in Windows7.
Windows-key + S-key allows you to select a rectangular part of the screen and then take a screenshot of the selected part. It then saves it Microsoft OneNote. From there you can save it, copy it to powerpoint, email it, share it, etc.
Not working anymore in Windows 8. 🙁
In Win7, you could use Print Screen to capture the screen shot. Then open Paint and Ctrl-v to paste the screen shot in Paint. You don’t need any third party software at all.
Yes. But that was a bit complex process(at least for the general user). Now they have simplified it more and that’s good.
This article is wrong. Windows 7 came with the built in sniping tool.
How’s the article wrong? I have never said that Windows 7 hasn’t a built in sniping tool. This article explains how taking screenshots has been made easier in Windows 8.
You did, It’s in the first sentence “In Windows 7, there isn’t really an easy way to take screenshots of your desktop without 3rd party software.”
Actually, there is a shortcut in win7. Pressing ctrl, and print screen will save your screen to your clipboard. Ctrl, alt, print screen only takes a picture of the active window only. Just open up paint and paste and save.
