Doesn’t pinning the folder to the start screen, and thus clicking the folder switch back to the desktop to open? Meaning it doesn’t open the folder in Metro, so what’s the sense? Correct me if I am wrong I just don’t understand this use. Pinning it to the Taskbar makes better sense yes?

Start screen is nothing but a launcher, where you can pin your favorite programs and folders. Start screen is not meant for launching only metro apps, but also for desktop apps and pinned sites.
Yes, I get that, however I am looking for the reasoning. If it opens in Desktop mode, what reason is there to have it on the Start screen? Just to have a fancy place to put it? Again, pinning it to the taskbar (if you can), makes much better sense.
If you like the Start screen concept of Microsoft, then it will make sense for you. But if you don’t then their is noting that you will like. Pinning folder here is the same like you do in the Start menu in Windows 7.(There wasn’t an official way, but it could be done by registry hacking)
Right, I get what you are saying, and I understand the concept, I just don’t understand why anyone would want to do that. The video makes much more sense to show users how to pin it to the taskbar, seeing how they are in “Desktop mode” when it opens anyway. What if you are in Desktop mode already….are you going to jump to start screen, click the folder which then takes you back to desktop mode to open. Understand my point?
It’s not always that you are in the desktop mode. When you are in any metro app, all you need to do is to hit the Start button and select the folder. It “will” switch you to the “Desktop” mode, but it will open the explorer with the folder that you wanted.
So it will require less clicks for launching any folder than you normally do today.
